Milos is the fifth largest island in the Cyclades with an area of 151 square kilometers. It is located in the SW part of the prefecture and is 88 n.m. from Piraeus.
One of the special features of Milos is its natural port which is considered one of the largest and safest in the Mediterranean.
Milos stands out both for its volcanic soil and for its rich mineral and deposit subsoil. Its geological composition consists almost exclusively of volcanic rocks due to the action of volcanoes. These have acted over the last 3,000,000 years and are now considered extinct. The result of this action is the existence of various and beautiful geomorphological shapes that enchant the visitor, as well as the multitude of beaches with white gold beaches and clear blue waters.
This is a beautiful island in the Cyclades where you will find about 70 beaches with crystal clear blue waters, golden white sand and dreamy landscapes.
In most villages and resorts of the island there are many traditional restaurants and shops characterized by impeccable service and friendliness.
Among the most famous sights of Milos are the statue of Aphrodite, the catacombs, the ancient theater, the archeological, the folklore, and the mining museum which are open to the public and worth visiting.
